Election Night Picks

De Bortoli Db Reserve Pinot Noir 2008, South Eastern Australia

$15.95 (221994)

Do you Speak-a my language?  This wine comes from a land down under, where women glow and men drink Pinot.  It’s a nice, inexpensive sipping Pinot Noir.  Grab your best mate and plunder this down while BBQing. Finish it before the food is ready, or smile and pour it with a Vegemite Sandwich.

Domdechant Werner’sches Riesling Kabinett 2008, Qmp, Hochheimer Hölle Riesling Rheingau, Germany

$18.95 (722413)

Like William’s smile, the title of this wine is a mouthful.  But thankfully, like Kate walking down the aisle: this wine is light bodied, classy, sweet, and flashes a bit of laciness. Riesling is a perfect match for a patio lunch on Mothers Day.  Skip the party sandwiches and serve this with red snapper and creamy dill sauce.

Norman Hardie County Pinot Noir 2009, VQA Prince Edward

County, Unfiltered Ontario, Canada $35.20 (125310)

I have nothing funny to compare this wine to.  This is hands-down one of the best Pinot’s I have tasted from Ontario.  Well done Norm.  Take this to dinner when you come to my house!!
