Family Day Tipples

I’m on top of things this weekend.  Found an LCBO that puts the Saturday release on their shelves on thursday night!  SA LCBO.

Mount Riley Sauvignon Blanc 2011, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand, $16.95 (981670)

Every time I read the word Mount, I think of my buddies little amorous dog.  This Sauv Blanc will make everyone happy.  It’s like walking little Riley in the park on a clear winter day.  Its fresh and crisp, puts a skip in your step and it’ll get your little friend so excited, he’ll mount up for a quick shin bone ride.  Kick off the passenger and serve this well chilled with roasted asparagus.

Masi Brolo Di Campofiorin 2007, Igt Rosso Del Veronese, Appassimento, Veneto Italy, $24.95 (976092)

Masi is one of my favorite Italian producers.  This is an amazing mouthful for the price.  Like Jewel belting out a tune.  It’s quite hot, smells woodsy and homey, and you’ll drink enough to straighten your teeth.  Park the RV, Break from Bad, get a bottle of this and drink it with some roast prime rib.  (I don’t know any Jewel lyrics)

Bodegas Lan Crianza 2007, Doca, Rioja Spain, $15.95 (166538)

Case this sucker up.  This is my one year anniversary for this blog and one of my favorite wines has been re-released. Thank you Mr. LAN.  Read the past review here.

Agreed, but the LAN is meant to more of an everyday wine anyway. I don’t think cellaring will help it much.
